January 2008 to Present - StepStone Solutions UK - Business Analyst

I was able to further my career again at the start of 2008 when I was offered the role of Business Analyst within StepStone. I am now responsible for documenting all design aspects of the EasyCruit product and helping assist developers and testers. I work closely with product management to see through the release of new versions of the software and help support the EasyCruit team where ever possible. Some of my responsibilities include:

  • Researched and produced user requirements and functional specifications for new and existing web based products
  • Worked closely with developers, product management and QA to ensure optimal integration of content and good functionality whilst conforming to an SDLC process
  • Responsible for gathering requirements and estimates on upcoming development working closely with developers, project management and release management
  • Responsible for setting up a new "handover / signoff" procedure aimed at improving communications with offshore contractors
  • Performed regression and acceptance testing

January 2007 to December 2007 - StepStone Solutions UK - Implementation & Web Developer

As part of a restructuring of Obvious Solutions in 2007 I gained the opportunity to further my career and development by joining the Web Development & Implementation Team of StepStone EasyCruit.

  • Client and candidate contact offering first and second line support on EasyCruit
  • Creation of client EasyCruit career websites, this includes ensuring that all sites comply with W3C accessibility Priority 1 guidelines
  • Supporting the Business Analyst team responsible for developing the product, I assist in the early stages of UAT on new developments

March 2002 to December 2006 - Obvious Solutions - IT Assistant

Working for an e-recruitment / HR company I was part of the technical team. Obvious used digital video cameras to capture interviews. This was then made into a digital presentation CD-Rom or presented online as a streaming video link. My main duty in this role was to over see the production of the videos and multimedia material. Other duties included:

  • PC support to over 50 workstations and approx 40 employees in the office and remote locations
  • Installation, configuring and up keep of companies network. This included TCP/IP, WiFi and VPN. Setup of Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange on users computers
  • Manage the purchasing of hardware and consumables such as Cameras, Tapes and CD’s
  • Looking after cameras and managing repairs
  • Graphical Design Work

  • Managing of domain names and email address’s

Interests

I have always been interested in computers owning my first (an Amiga 500) at the age of 7 and working my way through many more since. I was introduced to the internet at an early age (around 1997) and enjoy keeping up with new technologies and improving my web design and coding skills. Other interests and hobbies include Dj’ing, photography, cooking and politics. I have recently picked up the guitar and find this rewarding pass time.
